Tax Agent Services regulations

As a registered tax agent, Hamilton Reid Tax Advisors Pty Ltd (HRTA) will perform Tax Agent Services in accordance with the Tax Agents Services Act 2009 (TASA), which includes giving the client the following information:


  1. The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) maintains a register of Tax Agents and BAS Agents. The register can be accessed and searched by following the link (https://www.tpb.gov.au/public-register). 
  2. HRTA's rights, responsibilities and obligations as a Tax Agent, including its responsibilities and obligations to a client, and the Commissioner of Taxation, can be found in the TASA, as well as in the Code of Professional Conduct. A client’s obligations to HRTA as a Tax Agent include their obligation to keep records and to provide complete and accurate records to HRTA.
  3. If a client has a complaint about the Tax Agent Services provided by HRTA, they can contact Ms. Serena Luo. Ms. Serena Luo will work with the client to help resolve the complaint professionally, respectfully and as quickly as possible. If the complaint cannot be resolved, or the client is not satisfied with how the complaint is being handled by Ms. Serena Luo or with the outcome, the client may make a complaint to the TPB. Complaints to the TPB must be made in writing using its online form, which is available at (https://hamiltonreid.com.au/complaints).
